That depends on what you like really. Both in terms of hardware are similar, so it's up to the software differences.

I work in the cellphone parts/distribution aspect. I'll have to give it to you from a repair cost perspective. iPhones are generally cheaper to repair. Samsung phones will be expensive to repair and will remain expensive over time. Google and OnePlus phones are pretty good but they break easy and or sometimes the parts are difficult to get (don't trust eBay too many quality issues with parts). Motorola Eh... Definitely there are other phones out there that are good. At the end of the day it really depends on lifestyle and what exactly your looking for.

 

If you can get insurance for sure for at least the first 2 years.

I think both are good but it really depends on what's your budget, what software do you want, what were your previous experiences with the 2 etc.. for example if you have a medium budget advantages from android are that often times you get a better price-quality (camera,specs etc) while for iphone you would get pretty nice software
