TuT How to force upgrade to Windows 10

Hello everyone!

The official release of Windows 10 was the 29 of July. But what many people don't know is that the 29th July was the release to people who took part in the Windows 10 insider program. Other Microsoft/Windows users compatible with Windows 10 have to wait a couple of days or maybe weeks until Microsoft unlocks the update for them.

However, in this tutorial I will explain how you can force your computer to download the Windows 10 update to your computer . The upgrade is completely free and everyone who tells different is probably going to scam you.

Step 1: Setting Windows Update to automatically

• Open your Control Panel

• Navigate to System and Security > Windows Update

• Click on Preferences

• Change it to 'Install updates automatically'

Step 2: Reserving your free Windows 10 version

You may have already noticed the Windows 10 notification on your taskbar. By clicking through it, you can register for a free upgrade. You will receive an email notification after you succesfully registered for the setup.

Step 3: Clearing your Windows Update cache

If your Windows Update hasn't downloaded anything concerning Windows 10 yet, you need to clear the Windows Update files, in order to have a clean update scan.

• Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

• Delete everything inside (You need administrator permissions for this)

Step 4: Running the force update command

• Open the search and type in CMD

• Right click it and open as administrator

• Enter the following command

wuauclt.exe /updatenow

Congratulations, your computer should now detect the Windows 10 update and download it automatically! If it does not work on the first try, repeat steps 3-4 again.
