iOS itself shows whether the message was sent or not.

 

If it sends, you'll hear a swoosh noise. If not, you will see a red rounded exclamation mark.

If there's no exclamation mark then it's delivered...

In Whatsapp how we get the double ticks when it's send and blue double ticks when It's read, can't we have that on sms ?
