how exactly does the defense slider work?

i have mine cranked up to 100 but I still take huge hits from computer characters.

if I have 100x defense, shouldn’t any hit on me basically be very negligible?  If that’s the case why can I get hit with 300-1000+ blows?

The defense slider just doesn’t seem to help much or it’s broken.

It's not broken ,i'm sure you didn't enable it after you slide it

you are correct.

i did not know there was a checkbox on the right side above the slider...

it was not obvious/there is no box there so i never guessed a checkbox was there
