I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about because I have two of the apps with 15k coins currently.

It has worked for me mainly when I first started using the apps. I think it's because people follow so quick that the app can't keep up with it but once you use the app for a cool minute they slow down but I still get like 20 followers per time!

No jailbreak is needed but if you have autoscript it will make this 100x easier trust me I dont have autoscript at the moment.
