  1. Alucard, I don't think you remotely know the history of this game and what we've gone through to keep it alive. We did have it on our roadmap to fix this issue. In the meanwhile, we've been diligent and created tools within 1 week to address this issue manually. I spend a few hours every day looking over accounts now for suspicious activity - SPECIFICALLY TO KEEP THE GAME FUN FOR THOSE THAT ENJOY IT. As a small team, we are spending our own cash on the game to keep it alive. By "cash grab" you mean having our personal bank accounts go down every month to support staff and server costs while trying to get more resources to do more things with it? The game is net negative in the tens of thousands of dollars a month as we work on new stuff and try to work to get more resources - we do this because we've always believed in the game being fun and the community. We took over the game because it was either that or have it go down completely. We made the call that we believed in it enough to try and make it work despite every obstacle that has come our way over the past year in getting things back up and running. As you stated in chat multiple times, your experience in engineering should lend well to know that you can't turn an entire development on a dime to restructure an entire game on a moment's notice. I did ask you to nicely sit back and enjoy the game in private chat when you originally used the exploit, did I not? You refused and kept trying to exploit things. I did honestly consider private messaging you, but given your behavior in the game and not moving on after over a month, I find it highly unlikely that you would have been receptive after you banged on this same door 3 times yourself and then posted about it months later. You're bullying a small team that's working hard to turn things around and trying to justify it by some self-sense of being for the greater good when at the end of the day, and that's just not true. And I have every right to state my case to this thread and community, even more so than you do, because at the end of the day, I've spent blood, sweat, tears, and sleepless nights on this product much longer than you have. You have to concede that much.
  2. Don't lie to yourself - this hurts our startup no matter how you want to skew yourself as a white knight. We aren't a team of young college kids. Our team has decades experience in the game industry and know exactly how to patch it. This is just us having to redirect time and resources to fix this instead of actually adding new content to the game (you know, that thing that makes it fun?). History of the game is that we took it over from another team that abandoned and neglected it, so our focus was to get things back rolling and fun first on our own dime. So as a gamer and if you have an engineering background, I hope you can sympathize that instead of spending several thousand of dollars towards improving the game, we have to go back and fix holes left by the original developer that 99% of users would never deal with. This doesn't help us grow our business or to be successful in the near term, however, I can concede that we would have had to do it eventually, which was already on our roadmap to be done in the next 6 months. So now, thanks to this annoyance, we get to create automation to block folks and then re-architect someone else's code to cover the case. If you or the community actually meant to really help, you'd have taken down the post, and sent a private message to the team stating you had found this exploit (which we would have told you we already knew about). Instead, the community here has decided to spread it out even further. This is the equivalent of a bully convincing themselves that hurting someone else will make them "tougher". So no - this is not a good thing, nor will it ever be for any company you do it towards. Hypothetically, if I have investors or partners interested, I now have to explain why we had to ban a bunch of users in the past 72 hours given our smaller scale. Please don't convince yourself of this - it's a slippery slope, and you are ALWAYS screwing with someone's livelihood in trying to do their job and making something fun for people. Thanks for letting me know. Easy enough for me to find you now
  3. No. That was me watching your account.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm one of the developers for this game. I'm guessing that's a bit of a surprise as most wouldn't come here to talk to this community. Figure I'd drop a friendly message here. 1. We will ban anyone that uses the exploit. We're active on it. The community itself will notice, and once you make any remote progress and let us know too. It's honestly going to be a waste of your time, and you'll just have to start over. It's honestly 3 mouse taps for us to take care of it today. 2. Lord Alucard was banned over a month ago multiple times himself, he seems to have neglected to mention that before tossing this to you guys. 3. We're actually a pretty cool group working on this as a startup and aren't taking anything out of it for ourselves at this time. We have a great community and I hope you folks would actually enjoy the game and try it out. We put a lot of work into it and care about our users. If any of you wished to be white hats and provide legit issues to us, we're more than happy to provide in-game rewards for your help. We care more about working with developers and communities to make a great game for folks to enjoy. Cheers
