I think in this case you talk of overcharging. Had the same problem with my iPhone a month ago until I got my battery changed. it's not a secret batteries get weaker over time, but if its capacity goes down within a few months some charging issues are to be taken into consideration. I can't help myself but you might have done something wrong. The hack works for the major part of the players who downloaded it and this fact actually renders your argument irrelevant. I have no idea what causes your problem.
