Ok, so my device is an iPad Pro running iOS 11.1.2 and jailbroken by Electra.
I have a couple of tweaks installed that focus on getting free in-app purchases. I have iAP26, LocalIAPStore, and InApp Purchases for 10.X from kiiimo’s repo, and I have the iOSGods iAP Cracker made by Joka. Everything was working fine, as I managed to get all the song packs in Deemo unlocked with these tweaks when the latest update was just recently released and I was able to do the same on a handful of other games.
Moving on, I rebooted my device when YouTube froze on me because I was using an older version of YouTube to make it work with YouTube++ and I forgot to rejailbreak since I was already sleepy at the time. When I woke up the next day, Torngat from NO ADVERTISING ALLOWED! was revoked and I had to reinstall Torngat first then rejailbreak. I decided to open up Cydia and update some tweaks because I haven’t updated in a while (my last update was some time around August 2018). That’s when I just noticed that kiiimo’s repo was mysteriously removed from my sources. I did the mass update first and then I re-added kiiimo’s repo. After that, I noticed that most of kiiimo’s old tweaks showed an error saying that it had a “missing description”. I reinstalled every tweak that showed that error and restarted my springboard.
After that, I opened up Deemo and noticed that all the song packs were locked. This usually happens when the game fails to connect to Apple servers, so as long as the game is able to connect to the Apple servers, you are able to play those song packs even when you’re not jailbroken. I tried to use the many free in-app purchases tweaks that I have installed on other apps and they all didn’t work. The apps froze on the spinner and didn’t show any error message nor “Purchase Successful!” message. I initially thought first that maybe the Apple IAP servers were down again but the App Store was working just fine and my non-jailbroken iPhone was able to make IAPs. My jailbroken iPad can’t. It only can when it is not jailbroken or when all those tweaks were uninstalled.
I think that this all happened when I did the mass update in Cydia. Were there any changes to the substrate for Tweak Injector or Substitute that broke some of these hacks? I also heard that there was an issue that caused some people to launch an attack on kiiimo’s website and delete all the tweaks that he had. Is anyone else having this same problem?
