IDK what FTP is but I i'm pretty sure it stands for File Transfer Protocol.. which it does.
If you have 'OpenSSH' which you should then you can transfer files using FTP onto your device, basically you can connect to your device over the WiFi network instead of using a cable without ever needing to touch your device (if you know the IP address).
I use 'Cyberduck' to transfer files to and from my device.
Just find out your device's WiFI Network IP Address
And the username will be "root" and default root password is "alpine".
Now you should be connected and ready to do whatever you want. (You can also use Cyberduck to use Terminal through your Mac to your iOS device)
