I think it's just like a better CCleaner.
It's great if you think you need it. I like it for managing startup items and stuff which you can't access normally, it's also good for clearing space every once and a while.
You can also get it from macbed.com for free if you like.

its not exactly about performance for me, but yeh its dns flushing has saved me a couple of times. i usually use it to clear off junk, as my storage is tight at 128 GB
I've been using macbed since you suggested it a couple years ago, i'll give that a try too.
