Cydia vs Sileo I think that this is a very nice topic to discuss. Let's start from the definition. What is Jailbreaking? Jailbreaking is a sort of access and privilege escalation in softwares developed by Apple. It is mainly done to grant a user full access to his/her iDevice including: iPhones,iPads,iMacs,Apple Watches and Apple TVs. It is mainly done by patching the iDevice's kernel. And it takes balls to make a Jailbreak and make it all work perfectly. What is Cydia vs Sileo? Now just like Apple VS Android there is also a battle going on Nowadays which comes from inside the jailbreak community that is Cydia vs Sileo.Note that the explanation below will be of the current jailbreak age. Pwn20wnd > unc0ver > saurik > Cydia Cydia. The legendary creation of saurik. Old school. Slow and boring UI. Then why do people like it? There are two main reasons of why people like Cydia. First of all, Cydia was created by saurik and saurik is the legendary person who never left the jailbreak scene completely for the "easy money". The second reason is because of the Cydia Substrate that allows tweak injection in your iDevice. Cydia Substrate is fast and is nicely working today. Pwn20wnd made the latest Jailbreak with the package installer being Cydia. CoolStar > Chimera > Comex > Sileo Sileo. The new kid in the block that has yet to see the world. Fast and eye-appealing UI. Then why don't people like it? There are two main reason of why people dislike Sileo. First of all, Sileo was created by Coolstar and his buds just to show people that we shouldn't just depend only on Cydia in this modern era. As a competitor , People generally disliked Sileo. The second reason is because of the Substitute. Substitute is a tweak injector as well. That is slow and unstable compared to Cydia. CoolStar made the latest jailbreak with the package installer being Sileo. ~~~Cydia or Sileo~~~ There are more supporters of Cydia than there are supporters of Sileo. This is because Pwn20wnd preferred to stick with Cydia and Substrate. While Coolstar preferred to go with something new that was unstable. Coolstar could not go with Substrate because Substrate is not an open source so, there was a threat if possibly saurik sold himself to Apple then there would be nothing because Cydia is the only gateway to package installation and tweak injection. So, Coolstar needed something new. And I whole heartedly respect him for this. Analysis I'm not really very well-aware of all the stuff that went through but I just made some points that I think everyone that has interest in jailbreak community, should know. So, Cydia or Sileo? Both. It's time to remove all the hate and become together. I know everyone has preferences. I'm not asking you Sileo users to switch to Cydia or vice versa. I'm asking for unity and stop all the "Jailbreak racism" xd I respect both the creators and both the package installers are good. So, if you still Have hate on your opposing side then please. You don't deserve to be a part of the Jailbreak community. #JailbreakUnity
