i cant find one myself, but found a site that live updates and includs CSS linked with HTML

get a new program that links(http://cssdeck.com/labs), or type CSS inside of the HTML code, it gets messy but thats that.

Nothing really, I Just want to color and font text. but dont want to mix it with the HTML code. there is nothing wrong with the code, its just that i dont know how to connect them.(CSS and HTML)

So I am making a super simple HTML file as in "training". When I made a HTML file i wanted to add CSS code without typing the CSS code inside the HTML code, as in doing. <link href="#" rel="stylesheets" type="text/css" But I dont know how... I did a file and called it styles.css and made it. (typed the css code inside styles.css). <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheets" type="text/css" That didnt work either, I even tried posting the hole link in href but it didn't work either. Any ideas? If you anyother program for better and easier coding feel free to link me. i am using notepad++. Thank you.
