Same here after I enable the silver and gold only and went to trade with kid 

while before I played the whole chapter with unlimited ammo and drop boss and was ok

I think it's not safe to use the Gold modifiers. Silver alone I think is okay.  Though, you don't have to enable the silver if you already enabled the boss drop since you always get silvers.
