It is what it is. Quite a few forum systems revolve around the same idea to gain access to certain sections for example.

The thing is, it probably is annoying for a good chunk of the newbies. But also a good chunk of people can start to grow into it and love it. Eventually everyone gains access, but the community also grows as well.

it’s kind of annoying, but i think it’s necessary after a certain point ^^, otherwise too many people will abuse the service. maybe it’ll change in the future but i doubt it
