Add-ons are small pieces of software that add new features or functionality to your Browser (in this case, Firefox)

Firefox Security Add-ons

. AdBlock Plus - surf the web without annoying ads! Block banners, pop-ups, video ads, malware domains and tracking;
. Disconect - Block malware and tracking. Faster web page's loading;
. HTTPS Everywhere - encrypts your communications, making your browsing more secure;
. LastPass - Password manager that saves all your passwords. You only need to remember one password, the master one that will have you acess to all the other passwords;
. Track me not - protects privacy in web search. Obfuscates your search profile.

Firefox Speed Add-ons

. Fasterfox - makes your browsing so much faster! Increases meaningly your Browser speed.
You really dont need another speed add-on once you have Fasterfox.

There are many usefull add-ons you just need to search for them
Here are a few more that can be usefull for you:

. DownThemAll - increases download speed and lets you download all the links/images contained in a webpage;
. Download Statusbar - view and manage downloads from a statusbar;

. Tab Mix Plus - enchances tabs browsing capabilities. Features such as "duplicating tabs", "undo closed tabs", "undo closed windows" and many more.

If you are a Developer or want to be one, you can find some nice Add-ons that will allow you to learn how to costumize websites (CSS, HTML, Javascript) and some other stuff.

 Well... in my opinion Firefox is way better than Chrome atm

Not to mention the huge amount of add-ons available on Firefox ^.^

Yes! FireFox has some really nice add-ons!

 

But the Chrome Web Store is improving a lot also lately!
