Note that you have to use the specials right after your max hp reduced(i.e. before attacking). If you cleared the stage before figuring out your max hp is reduced, you will have to forfeit the run. If there're still enemies on stage, afair you can still use special after attacking to reduce your current hp.

Thanks a lot & btw it works as you told me. As for now if i’m Using captain with hp boost I turn off god mod to avoid losing stamina or stuck in stages, and sometimes I use someone who can remove despair.  Thanks my dear friend for you help I appreciate ❤️❤️
