Detailed instructions
------------------------

1. Use the camera of your device to take a picture of a smiling face, a cartoon, a comic strip, a drawing. Well lit and highly contrasted images produce better results.

2. Use the two sliders to adjust the balance of blacks and whites. The first slider controls the thickness of the black lines. The second slider controls the darkness of the image. Move it to the left to capture more detail and get a darker image, move it to the right to capture only the main lines and get a brighter image. You can tap the icon to move a slider one little step.

3. When you think that the image is perfect, Printy generates a beautiful PDF file, ready to be printed at high resolution with any AirPrint compatible printer. You can also send the PDF file via email. Alternatively, you can color on the screen, using your finger like a pastel.

4. All new coloring pages are automatically saved in a library. You can print a coloring page, color it on screen , and adjust again blacks and whites as many times as you want.

Why Printy?
------------------------

The fantastic touch screen of iOS devices is the reason why there are so many apps to let children draw stuff with a finger on the glass. They are very good but, as a parent, I want that my children learn how to use pencils too.

They love coloring books. Each week they spend long hours drawing and coloring. Their drawing skills improve progressively month after month, I couldn't be happier.

So I made Printy to help myself in finding new stuff to color. It is so easy now: take a picture, adjust, print! They come to me with a book and ask "dad please I want to color this little pig". And in half a minute they have a beautiful pig to color. It couldn't be easier for me and funnier for them!

After having fun with Printy, many asked me to add the possibility to color directly on the screen. They need to spend time in an useful manner while waiting for the dentist. Ok, then I did it. :-)
