I decided to delete it after I made a progression.

I pressed on delete then I downloaded the game again. And I got this

It worked for me. I had to put on a code to press on "confirm"

Sorry for the delayed reply. I just logged in.

It did not work for me because it was not logged in Game Center (I purposely did not because silly me thought since Game Center is legit and all it might notice the differences in my score let alone know anything about it saving my progress). So it did restore, except it restored some really old save file.

If you are synced to Games Center you see the usual banner being displayed when launching the app. If you didn't see that, it was a sign your account wasn't synced anywhere. And on top of that I noticed that sometimes it just doesn't sync data in real time. It happens that you might have to reopen the game to be sure that your account gets synced.
