I just managed to fix this.

step 1: go to cydia and search for "cydia substrate" and install it.

step 2: once it has installed, go back to mobile terminal (the one I'm using is "MTerminal", and you can download this from cydia).  

step 3:  run the command again. in this case, I ran this command: 

dpkg -i com.laxus.lifesum_8.10.3_iphoneos-arm.deb

(see my previous post for more details)

step 4:  MTerminal now shows no errors.

 

 

 

I can’t get a mod menu to pop op, I followed the instructions of download deb, install from filza, and it even shows as installed in my cydia. Am I missing something?
