So I tried it with the easiest get items to duplicate in case it didn’t work and I lose my item. So I went to my storage box and duplicated it until one of the dup item had No number at all,  then I’d exit the hacked app ( not close out) and go to the normal app, sure enough I had all the items and it was added 999+ to my inbox. 
I decided to try a riskier item which are the beams and I duplicated it in the settlement’s pellet storage. I did the same thing and delete the extra items that said 50 beams or under (Max amount) until I got my results one item unmarked. I then spread 50(s) beams and left the huge number item as well. When I went back to the normal app, it had a different result, they all still showed up expect the big number item of beams reduced to 10 and all the 50(s) also turned to ten expect the unmarked item (leave it alone) and in my inbox I got 999+ beams! Finally I can finish my settlement faster. I don’t want to risk my account so for today I’m stopping at two items and will do it again with the metal bars  tomorrow or in a few days.

I found a way

Ok don’t use the duplicate items onto the one from the inbox. I messed up and not sure how to fix it, I deleted the app and the dup items are still in the wall project and will not synchronize even on the normal app. I messed up

As stated above. You can’t duplicate settlement items. Only thing you can ‘hack’ at settlement is building level 1 floor, door and windows.

Do I have to restart my whole game? I have paid stuff there and I worked so hard to build my inbox what should I do? Give up the settlement?

Can you post screenshots? If doing everything you can and still it wont go away i guess your progress is bugged now. And maybe needed to start over. Regarding purchases i think you can file a refund?

Hi to fix it u most collect let’s say u need 10 of the car plugs then u most collect 10 the legit way the game will see u have them legitimately and then it will let’s u finalize even tho u dupped them it’s weird but that’s the counter way or if u need the wood that u can only get by crafting in the new wood machine if u need 10 (and u dupped 10 and u added it) then u need to collect 10 legitimately the game will see u have legit 10 then it will let u finalize (YOU BASICALLY NEED TO COLLECT THE NEW STUFF LEGITIMATELY TO COMPLETE THE BUILDINGS) I hope this helped

U can’t file a refund lol if u tell the support team they know u cheating

Ok it away after a full 24hrs a passed, the glitched fixed itself. The beams and iron rods are gone and aren’t even in my inbox anymore. But after all that I was left with extra amount. So I guess the hack really only works with jailbroken phones to stick. My phone wasn’t jail broken but what did stay and not disappear was other stuff like the screws, satellites, cables and etc stayed( the ones you can grind for). That worked and stayed in my inbox. Because before no matter how many times I dup my screws they would disappear too but I did that trick.
