Some things have been grayed out since the update... does that mean I can’t craft those ?

You didn’t do something right. 

 

Inventory is frozen for me. Rapid fire works for me. Game isn’t laggy at all. Only thing that doesn’t work is nothing unlocked at any level, need to level to unlock anything. Outside of that one small detail, everything else works fine., ie item duplication, rapid fire, frozen water/food/bandages.
