i have tested and it works ive built a multi building bass with traps all the way around without collecting anything for it, i signed in on the app store version on a different device and all my stuff was there when i restored my gca save

Check with you. How you save the game after I done with duplicating the items and upgrading my house? I follow your guide, it is great. But after I done with duplicating and upgrading. I delete the mod and install from App Store, when I load the game. All the things that I deplicate is gone and all the upgrade I did to the house went back to the previous setting. 

 

you have to connect it to a game center account and restore the save when you load into the game
