I used a saved game hack yesterday , worked a treat , all plants unlocked , 2000 Dimonds , 200,000 coins and all levels unlocked just not completed giving us something to play. 

Looks like the exact same PP.dat file. 

Its classed as a "Save" , not actually a hack , it's someone's saved game.

You can find another pp.dat file that people just hack diamonds or money: D

The game is server sided you can't hack Dimonds or coins , you can hack parts of the game but not Dimonds or coins as it just gets reset. 

A PP.dat file is a saved game , someone has played the game and unlocked everything , no hack involved. 

But it's still a good find , it works , nice share , well done.
