Help/Support sub_xxxxxx does not "Branch and Link" to the specified address

I want to Branch and Link from sub_xxxxxx to sub_xxxxxx in IDA. So i computed its hex value using a Branch and Link instruction guide. After computing its hex value i applied the modified hex value but after applying the modified value and went to IDA-view, it branches to loc_xxxxxx instead of sub_xxxxx. Why is it "Branch and Link" to loc_xxxxxx and not sub_xxxxxx?

Code Caving That is a secret method

ok after searching the net about code caving i found out that code caving is a hacking method. What am i asking above is why does the sub_xxxxxx didnt "branch and link" to sub_xxxxxx but instead it branches to loc_xxxxxx?
