Help/Support Disable charging when connected to PC

Hello folks,

I have a small issue on hand and would ask this beautiful community for some help (totally sarcasm)

So it is obvious when you connect your iDevice to your computer, it starts charging automatically so I wanted to know if I could disable the charging when connected because I use my iDevice for a very long time connected and it charges nonstop which might damage the battery.

Any help is appreciated

ur device is the opposite of mine lol, when I plug in my device wouldn't charge..... it connected to the computer but it's not charing..

Are you on PC or Mac? Without the right  drivers installed it won't charge. But then it won't communicate properly either I imagine.

Everything I've read says "there's no way to disable charging" and "your battery will be fine, you only need to unplug it once a week if that."

I wouldn't worry too much about it being at 100% for too many hours.

You could try downgrading/disabling USB 3.0 to 2.0 Possibly even 1.0, we used to be able to do this in the UEFI BIOS under "Miscellaneous devices/USB Debug". 

This would revert all 3.0 USB Ports to 2.0, using older USB Ports would not provide enough power to charge the device.
