So this is my second time installing Kali Linux on Virtual Box and VMWare.

First time I downloaded Kali on my PC, when I would enter ifconfig on the terminal all I would get was lo and eth but not wlan, which I need for "reasons" :teehee:

Anyways, I just told myself that maybe my PC didn't have the capability for Wi-Fi since I could never connect to my router. But, I recently got a temp laptop and even when I'm connected to the Wi-Fi, I still don't get the wlan option appear on my screen and it's annoying as balls. When I check my internet connection on the top right, it tells me that I'm connected to a wired connection but when I search ifconfig, besides eth it says that there's no data available. Really confused with this crap. >.<

I've already tried ifconfig wlanO up and nothing.

Any help will be appreciated. <_<

I'm not on my PC right now but from what I can remember, VMWare always connects to the Wi-Fi via Ethernet. As if a cable was plugged in since you should probably have your WiFi connection shared to the VMWare one.

As long as you have internet, does it really matter if you're using wlan or not? Or are you trying to crack WiFi passwords? <_<

If yes, you'll need proper hardware to do so. You can't do it with every adapter.
