Hey guys! I recently bought a Google Pixel and I'm pretty new to the Android Gang so I'm asking for a bit of help.

I'd like to root my Google Pixel (7.1.1). I looked for several ways but I see people who got their phones stuck in a bootloop or their phone would't open and I'm not sure what to use anymore. If anyone rooted their Google Pixel or you have knowledge in a 100% non-rekMyPhone Method, tell me please :)

Before you root your device, you need your bootloader unlocked.

Download the adb and fastboot binaries.

Root the Google by installing "SuperSU 2.78 SR2", This will enables su access and will not touch anything in the system partition it also allows the dm-verity to be toggled.

You will also need to install the correct "Google USB" Driver for your machine.

I was reading about unlocking the bootloader and I might be wrong but it seems like it only apply's to Google Pixels who were bought from 3rd party companies like Verizon. Right?

If you’ve purchased the Google Pixel straight from Google, then you only need to issue a fastboot flashing unlock command followed by fastboot oem unlock.

Its only if your Pixel is Verizon or EE, then you would have to unlock the bootloader.

I don't really know how to "issue a fastboot flashing unlock command followed by fastboot oem unlock". I don't want to do it from un-trusted sources and brick my phone. Could you give me some links and steps :)

When I'm done with this I'll be able to make a tutorial since I've noticed there's alot of people with this problem

That tutorial was made in 2013 and it will not work on my Google Pixel. I need someone who already rooted their Pixel or a tutorial that was made atleast 2 months ago

i need to get a pixel lol
