How do I change an app name for metadata?

    Why are you trying to change it anyways?

    I'm trying to load a modified game client (that has a different name than vanilla client) into XMod so that it recognizes it as a game they have a mod for. I was thinking this would be the easiest way to do it since I can't seem to tell the xmod client to target it as it doesn't recognize the name.

    By modified game client do you mean a hacked IPA? Or what did you mod

    Yeah it's a hacked IPA. The developer of the mod changed the application name the system uses, so Xmod doesn't recognize it.

    You can just install modded IPAs with iFunbox, iTools etc. if you're non-jailbroken use cydia impactor

    I'm able to install it without issues. I just can't change the system name (is it called binary name?) for the application. I can change the icon name with a tweak, change the names in the Info.plist, but the Settings menu and Filza both still show a different name. I'm trying to locate where this is stored so Xmod will recognize it and install the mod and dylib for it.

    Just because you can launch it with xmod doesnt mean you get a dylib. You need to make a csci hack with the modded offsets of the IPA

    Okay thank you, I'm sure that's the case then. Offsets change even with small adjustments to the code, right?

     

    I'm still curious about my original question though. I've been reading and the Bundle ID gets made when the app is signed. So it's possible I would need to resign the app with a different application name?

    Okay thank you, I'm sure that's the case then. Offsets change even with small adjustments to the code, right?

    No I don't think so because even if you duplicate an app through installing it from different Appstore regions you only see 1 of the games

    Hey guys.


     


    Most apps have one info.plist file, and some apps have two info.plist files for example Translate Google


    One is main and Tow is varies by device language


     


     


    you should change String in two files info.plist and InfoPlist.strings in name.app and then change String CFBundleDisplayName to you want.


     


    I will explain changing name of Translate Google to iZONATrans


     


     go to this path Payload/Translate.app/info.plist


    and this path Payload/Translate.app/en.lproj/InfoPlist.strings


    and open with any text editor, change String of CFBundleDisplayName


     


    **note


    **if your device Arabic language go to ar.lproj or your device Spanish language go to es.lproj. Like that

        STEP 3: Open Sideloadly on your computer, connect your iOS device, and wait until your device name appears in Sideloadly.
        STEP 4: Once your iDevice is recognized, drag the modded .IPA file you downloaded and drop it into the Sideloadly application.
        STEP 5: Enter your Apple Account email, then press “Start.” You’ll then be asked to enter your password. Go ahead and provide the required information.
        STEP 6: Wait for Sideloadly to finish sideloading/installing the hacked IPA. If there are issues during installation, please read the note below.
        STEP 7: Once the installation is complete and you see the app on your Home Screen, you will need to go to Settings -> General -> Profiles / VPN & Device Management. Once there, tap on the email you entered from step 6, and then tap on 'Trust [email protected]'.
