I'm trying to change the stored application name that other apps read. I'm not referring to the "icon" name, but rather the "metadata" name that is used throughout the system to know what to call the application. Programs like Filza and XModGames read this value from somewhere, and I haven't found any information on how to change this. Is the process different for every app? None of the strings in the Info.plist file seem to handle this name.

What do you mean Filza just uses the app identifier to the according app name and xmod some kind of applist. Metadata.plist doesn't contain anything useful at all i's just for Appstore receipt validations

Where does filza pull the app name from? That's what I'm trying to change, the name that it's reading. I didn't know if there were any buried plists or metadata files that the system used to read the app name. Sorry for the confusion

Edit: the bundle display name in the info.plist does not match the app name in system settings

Info.plist

Info.plist

Info.plist bundle name does not match this(and I've also checked through all other strings in the file)

BundleID?

BundleID?

By bundle ID do you mean the string stored in the info.plist? Because that doesn't match. Do you mean the sequence of numbers/letters that make up the folder name?

Well the bundle ID is the main name for applications behind the masks

There are 2 info.plist. The first gets deleted when you install the app alongside metdata.plist

The main name being the name for the app that would be displayed in system settings or Filza? If that's the case, the app I'm trying to change the name for somehow doesn't use the Info.plist for this. The CFBundleName (and all other strings in Info.plist) does not match the name used by Filza. I checked every plist file in the folder, including both app locations in the Bundle and Data directories.

I checked the .ipa and couldn't find a second Info.plist. Does the one that gets deleted contain the name the system/Filza uses?
