I normally don't post here cause I am an iOS hacker, but I was just wondering:

If an app is available to download as an XAPK or APK, is it alright to just use the APK? (cause XAPKs are larger, so I assume it's better to use that)

I use APK.

I think XAPK holds all the app files such as the obb and data. APK just holds the main files and it usually downloads the other files in-game.

XAPK, GPK & other files is an archive with APK+DATA compressed. Some are even single APK with file size more than 50MB
