Help/Support Unable to take off JB on 9.3.3

I was having issues with the jailbreak on 9.3.3 and was using the Chinese version. I was getting errors randomly but couldn't read them as they were in Chinese characters. I then had to restart my device and then couldn't re-initialize the jailbreak. It simply restarts when I lock the device.

I thought I'll have to remove altogether and then reinstall the English version. I tried to do via a restore with iwsp file in iTunes but got the 3194 error - fixed the hosts file with same result.

I thought I could simply restore to factory on the phone itself and I did that but when the install happens it creates the basic Apple apps and the jailbreak apps (Cydia) are still there! Non functional but I cannot seem to clear them to start with a clean slate!

Help appreciated - phone is iPhone 6 with 9.3.3 obviously.

You can no longer restore to 9.3.3 IPSW because Apple already stop signing it.

Reboot device & follow instructions below to jailbreak.

The tweak Cydia Eraser removes your Jailbreak while keeping you on your current iOS version.

You can no longer restore to 9.3.3 IPSW because Apple already stop signing it.

This doesn't work though. When I reboot and launch the JB tool on my phone then lock the screen I get no prompt like before to swipe it just restarts the phone. When it opens nothing works like it was restarted. Somehow something has happened to the JB and I would basically like to remove and reinstall it fresh.

I don't believe there is a way to download Cydia eraser without Cydia functioning though. It won't open and simply auto crashes. I'm assuming this is because the hack to reinstate the jailbreak no longer works but I don't know how to start fresh again?

Did you have Apple File Conduit "2" or iFile/Filza or OpenSSH installed?

If yes, maybe we can work with those.

They are installed but would not open. I have an update though! I reinstalled the Chinese version of the JB and it has allowed me to open Cydia but still getting error in Chinese flashing up on restart... Still can't read it and screenshot doesn't catch it?

I open Cydia and immediately the screen that scrolls on installs opens and says - Could not open file /var/lib/dpkg/status - open (2: no such file or directory)

When I search for anything in the repos they all look empty - I'm sure that's related to the error. However it looks like I cant actually open things other than Cydia - the rest just automatically crash.

Another small note that may mean something. There are several apps that are now greyed out and say waiting like there's an update waiting but I do not think there has been recently nor were they from appstore and I can't click to complete them or delete them entirely. They are mundane apps; skype, banking app, Craigslist....

Also space available looks too high. Says there is 6GB of my 11.9 overall. I have music, photos, and quite a few working apps....

So I began to follow this.... I downloaded and installed until I got to ifunbox. It doesn't show me the full file system. I looked this up and it says if yours says jailed next to the name at the top it does not have the apple 2 conduit installed. So I'm assuming that means it's not jail broken.... Which I could have guessed at this point. I can't reinstall the Chinese JB or reinstall as it's just crashing now or giving me two options in Chinese characters and both result in it crashing.

Ugh! Why is this so hard to simply remove the jailbreak? I know it's messed up... I'm not sure exactly where but obviously it's not working but I can't reinstall the JB until it's basically been removed. Help as always appreciated... Not sure where to go from here. Seems like every fix assumes that things are semi functioning when I google answers

You're out of options right now since your Cydia doesn't work and neither do any tweaks.

Although according to that tutorial, you might not need the full filesystem access. Just place it somewhere inside your device if you can.

Ok I finally managed to fix it.... It was a long process.

I reinstalled the original jb from the pangu Chinese version and instead of locking my device I closed the app and went to settings then notifications and turned off the banner ad option then locked my device. Then the Chinese characters came up and it resprung and I was able to get into Cydia. Cydia had no sources or anything to open so I installed terminal and manually added the file extensions and it was semi functional.

At that point I was able to install Cydiaeraser and take the jailbreak off completely. I then could redo the jailbreak using the English version.
