it wouldn't charge at all so I factory reset it and now it is charging but it will only charge if you restart the tablet. As soon as you unplug it then plug it back in it will not charge until you restart it again what could be wrong it, it is a LG-VK810

Hmmm. Try to connect it to PC and see if it charges. Also u can try to boot in a safe mode and check if it will charge. Maybe charging port needs to be cleaned up.

At first I thought it was the charging port but why would it charge after every restart but not if plugged in while the device is on that leads me to believe it is not the port. Have not tried computer yet bet have tried like 3 different cables that work. Safe mode wouldn't did the same thing it charges when turned until unplugged then if you want to charge it again you have to restart it. Doesn't make much since to me I just fixed a laptop that was old and had the same problem which was a faulty driver Which leads me to believe the software on the tablet might be messed up but I'm not sure.

Try this: hold power button for 20 sec while it is off charger, then release and plug it in, press power button again and turn it on.
