Question about cracking TomTom USA Canada app

    I bought TomTom USA Canada app and, for experimentation, tried Clutch2 to crack it. I then transferred the cracked app to another jailbroken device with appsync and it runs. However, it pops up a message asking for my Apple ID and password. Why would this be? Is the developer trying to collect data on those who would run a cracked version of this app?

    If it asks for Apple ID after cracking, you likely haven't cracked it properly or TomTom has some sort of security.

    Actually, I have cracked it three times with the following tools

    Clutch 2.0.3

    Clutch 2.0.4

    Rasticrac 3.3.4b

    I got the same result each time. The cracked app when run shows the Apple ID for the device and asks for just the password. Its almost like the TomTom company is phishing for passwords for those who use their apps cracked. I have also downloaded this app cracked by others in the past before I bought it and they were having the same problem. I am just curious what is going on with this app and what happens if someone types in a password in that dialog.

    I am not sure what you mean I didn't crack it properly. I cracked several other apps with the same simple commands issued to these tools without issue.

    As far as TomTom "phishing" for passwords, note that one as next to impossible for them...and would just be downright stupid on their part, risking loss of revenue from the Apple App Store. After getting the boot from Apple, lmao. That would be the day.

     

    It sound like something in the "crack" is conflicting with that particular app's in-app purchase system. And you're not the first person to have this problem with TomTom's string of more recent "paid" app's. And I would have to agree with DiDA regarding TomTom security.

     

    Probably not even worth the two cents, but there it is.

        📖 Android Installation Instructions

        STEP 1: Download the modded APK file from the link above using your preferred Android browser or download manager.
        STEP 2: Once the download is complete, open your file manager and locate the downloaded .apk file (usually in the Downloads folder).
        STEP 3: Tap the APK file, then select Install. If prompted, enable Install from Unknown Sources in your device settings.
        STEP 3A: If the mod includes an OBB file, extract it if it’s inside an archive. Then move the folder to: /Android/obb/
        STEP 3B: If the mod includes a DATA file, extract it if it’s archived. Then move the folder to: /Android/data/
