Help/Support Pokemon Go Change Teams

When I got to level 5 I choosed team red, because it's my favourite colour. After one day, I realized that all of my friends are on team blue. Is there a way to change teams in the game? It really sucks, because I can't play with em, if I want to battle in gyms. On the website of Niantic, they say, that at the moment it's impossible to change teams. The only way, is to create a new account, but I've spent quite alot of time playing with my current account. Isn't there a way to change teams? Or will it even be possible in the future?

Sorry but this isn't currently a feature in the original a game nor a feature with any third party methods. Sorry.

it's thought they might add that in the future, aswell as changing appearance and trading. for now, nothing you can do. on the plus side, welcome to team valor comrade

I hope they add this feature. Cause I really can't do any gym battles here cause all here are blue and are really strong. I really don't want to create a new account.
