Android noobie here. My dad just had me install a custom 4.4.2 version of android into his Note 2 Samsung. It was working quite well for a few weeks, until he plugged it into his MacBook with Kies. Now it's stuck in a boot loop, and now I'm trying to revive it by restoring it to factory settings, but I can't even access the Recovery Mode. I went to Download Mode so I can reinstall the custom firmware with Odin, but every time I did the result would always end up in a fail. Anyone could tell me why it's looping like that and why the methods I tried didn't work and how could I fix it?

You'll need to restore to stock using Odin apparently.

Make sure you're using the compatible firmware for your device.

Do I have to flash with a stock firmware? I couldn't find the one with the same build number, could I use a custom firmware instead?
