In order to jailbreak your ps3, you first need to downgrade it by using a E3 flasheer or some similar tool. Not all ps3's can be jailbroken, there is a tool that determines whats the lowest you can downgrade too, as long as its less than 3.5.5, it is jailbreakable

yep back when the first ps3 came out ( meaning the fat ps3 not the slim) opps qouted the wrong person sorry sploit lol

it's extremely hard to jailbreak a ps3 from experience, my friend just modded it so that you could download the cd's onto the ps3 and return the game.

Nah, you get the hang of it after a few tries, the only annoying part is when you need to put the E3 on your PS3 Flash. Also the cable is very fragile so you need to be really careful when bending it.

It's not hard lol you just need some experience with it and you should be good

All PS3' can be jailbroken except the Super Slim.

 

The older gen consoles are A2003 or below, allowing them to be jailbroken!

 

The latest firmware is 4.78 however you need an E3 Flasher and some soldering kit to make the JB happen. The E3 Flasher will downgrade your PS3 firmware to version 3.55 which then you upgrade using a CFW via USB. You can have 2 types of Jailbreaks, CEX or DEX. Both work almost the same, except DEX goes a bit more in depth when it comes to a jailbreak allowing you to see further into your console and games than CEX but it's not really much stuff to play with unless you're a developer looking to make something.

 

You can jailbreak the Fat and the Slim

Do not buy the normal e3 flasher kit you have to get the one for the fat consoles
