Help/Support Laptop Performance

Anyway,

I am trying to find ways to improve my laptop performance. Make System use less ram, less storage space, etc.

If you know any tricks then comment down below please.

Well I don't how much you are familiar with computers

A folder that stores a lot of space is the temporary folder. It's all useless files in there that softwares use to store .log files and other types of information that is pretty useless.

To remove temporary files you got go to Start>Run and type %temp%

then just Ctrl+a and Ctrl+Shift+Delete. Once I deleted 136 GB of trash in the temp folder.

Some files can't be deleted because are been used, like some process that is running in the background.

Another tool is CCleaner, it makes the computer pretty damn faster if you use it once or twice a week, by the way it removes all the temporary files in the temp folder.

To make your laptop boot up faster, it's recommended that you don't have a desktop full of stuff. so don't put much stuff in there like 100 games, 400 folders, 30 softwares that you use... if you already have them in the taskbar and in the start menu. put them in a folder.

Torrents? you download it? a lot or not?

.torrent files are pretty small in size but if you download a lot of stuff it can take a ton of storage out of your laptop.

So make sure that after you download a torrent go in the Start Menu and search for .torrent, it will show all the .torrent files then just delete all of them.

If you download too much stuff or just the usual stuff but you don't remove stuff that you downloaded like, google chrome setup, vlc player, Adobe Setup...

Make sure you clean up your downloads folder.

Another way to speed things up is to configurate what is going to start when you turn on your computer.

Like when you turn on your PC, your antivirus will Auto Scan or skype it will open or utorrent will open up...

Those take a lot of memory and makes the computer slow. So if you want use it's better to turn off what it starts and open the software up only when you need.

You don't need to download any tools to configurate that, there is a integrated tool in Windows that does the job.

You gotta go to Start>Run and type msconfig press enter and click in the Startup Tab.

Unselect all the softwares that you don't want to run when the Windows initiates.

Click Apply then OK and restart the computer.
