European War 7 – Save Data Editing Guide (iOS)

Hello everyone,

I'm excited to share my latest exploration with you. In this guide, I will walk you through the process of modifying the save data of European War 7 on iOS. By editing the game's save file, you can max out generals, unlock all in-app purchases, modify currencies, complete achievements, upgrade territory, and more.

This method works for both jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices. The only difference is how you access the game files.

A sideloading tool such as ESign / Feather
Files app on iOS

Understanding the Save File

European War 7 uses a custom encrypted binary format for its save data. The file cannot be edited with a normal text editor.

The game stores its save inside the Documents folder:

File: headquarter.sav
Contents: All game progress — generals, currencies, items, campaign stages, conquest, territory, achievements, mail, purchases, and more.

Backup: headquarter.sav.bak
Contents: Automatic backup copy of the save file.

The save editor handles all decryption, decoding, re-encoding, and re-encryption automatically.

Save File Format

The save file uses a 28-byte header followed by an AES-256-CBC encrypted Protocol Buffers payload:

Header (28 bytes, little-endian):

Bytes 0–3: Magic identifier (YSAE)
Bytes 4–7: Version (uint32)
Bytes 8–11: Encrypted data size (uint32)
Bytes 12–27: MD5 integrity token (16 bytes)

Editor Sections

The save editor provides the following tabs:

Overview – Save file summary, version, and general stats

Profile – Player name and basic profile fields

Currency – Gold, medals, resources, experience points

Items – Inventory items across all categories

Generals – All generals with level, rank, skills, and equipment

Troops – Troop unlocks and levels

Campaign – Stage progress, chapter completion, and formations

Conquest – Conquest mode progress and rewards

Territory – Buildings, wonders, invasion stats, and facilities

Achievements – Triumph progress counters and completion status

Quick Actions – One-click buttons for bulk operations

Raw Data – Direct JSON editing of the decoded protobuf

Log – Operation log showing what the editor changed

Quick Actions

The editor includes several one-click operations:

Unlock All (Complete + Max + IAP) – Applies all safe maximums: currencies, items, generals, troops, campaign, conquest, achievements, development, honors, mails, and IAP unlocks.

Max Currencies + Items – Sets gold, medals, and resources to maximum. Adds all missing items to inventory.

Max Generals + Equipment – Maxes all generals to Level 36, Rank 30, Emperor title. Assigns best equipment and troops. Unlocks all skins.

Max Progress – Completes all campaign stages, conquest entries, expedition levels, achievements, and development paths.

Unlock Territory Buildings – Initializes territory, upgrades all building types to max level, and adds all 19 wonder buildings.

Method 1 – Non-Jailbroken Devices

Step 1 – Download the IPA
Download the European War 7 IPA. Since it is free on the App Store, you can extract it yourself or obtain a decrypted copy.

Step 2 – Enable Document Browsing
When signing the IPA using ESign, Feather, or a similar sideloading tool, make sure that Document Browsing is enabled. This allows the game files to appear inside the iOS Files app.

Step 3 – Sign and Install
Use your P12 certificate to sign the IPA with Document Browsing enabled. Install the signed IPA onto your device.

Step 4 – Launch the Game Once
Open European War 7 once after installation. This will generate the required save file. After launching it once, you can close the game.

Step 5 – Access the Save File
Open the Files app. You should see a folder named "European War 7". Open it and navigate to the Documents folder. Locate headquarter.sav. Copy or extract this file.

Step 6 – Edit the Save File
Upload the file to the EW7 Save Editor: https://eu7saveinspector.netlify.app

The editor will automatically decrypt and decode the save. You can then use the individual tabs to modify specific values, or use the Quick Actions tab to apply bulk changes with a single click.

After editing, click the download button to export the modified save file. The editor will re-encrypt and re-sign the file with the correct MD5 token.

Step 7 – Replace the Save File
Go back to the European War 7 folder in Files. Delete the original headquarter.sav and replace it with the modified one. Make sure the filename matches exactly: headquarter.sav.

Step 8 – Launch the Game
Open the game again. Your modifications should now be applied.

Method 2 – Jailbroken Devices

Step 1 – Install the Game
Download the game from the App Store.

Step 2 – Locate the Save File
Using Filza, navigate to the app container and open the Documents folder. You will find headquarter.sav.

Step 3 – Edit the File
Extract the file and upload it to the save editor. Modify as needed and download the edited version.

Step 4 – Replace the File
Replace the original file with the modified one.

Step 5 – Launch the Game
Open the game and your edited save data should load.

Quick Guide: Max Everything

Upload headquarter.sav to the editor
Go to the Quick Actions tab
Click "Unlock All (Complete + Max + IAP)"
Download the modified save
Replace headquarter.sav on your device
Launch the game
Final Notes

Always keep a backup of your original headquarter.sav
The game also creates headquarter.sav.bak automatically
The editor preserves data integrity with correct MD5 re-signing
The game stores everything locally with no server validation
Achievement counters are set to exact target values to avoid visual glitches
IAP generals are unlocked by writing purchase history entries that the game recognizes
