Hello all my dad recently found an ipad 2 64gb when turned it on it was acting weird and couldn't access the home screen. So from their i hooked it up to itunes and restored it to factory settings and was able to setup as a new ipad. so my question is was there no i cloud account in the first place on this and they never turned i cloud lock on?.

If it was on icloud then when you restore it , it'll ask for icloud

But their isn't any icloud so it is safe to use it

yeah I tried the same thing with a different ipad but it is still locked so who ever ownedthe first ipad never setup icloud on it then.

Where did he find the iPad from?

my dad is one that goes around looking for stuff that people don't need anymore and he got a box from some one that they where throwing and he found it in there.

would like to but like i said i looked up serial number and it is linked to no I cloud account. so there is no way to get a hold of the previous owner.

You might as well keep it then; it probably belonged to the person who was throwing it away. Then again, why would someone throw an iPad away? Something could be wrong with it, even though you restored it.
