Help/Support Merge Dragons Needs Update to Play

I have the unlimited currencies version of MergeDragons!. I use the free in-app purchase feature as well. After a week or two of gameplay, it says the app needs to be updated in order to play. Every time, I have to restart because when I do the “duplicate app” thing, the free currency doesn’t work. 
I use iOS version iOS 17.4.1 (21E236) on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I am not jailbroken. How do I fix this?
