Thanks for the hack, @AlyssaX64, but there is a connection error after finishing the battle and I need to re-do the level. So you are trapped in a loop  

Ok, found a way to get this working: Just start the battle with disabled option. Take some damage and turn on the option during the battle. Just before the reward screen appears, disable the option. That's the way it worked on my side. Just in case someone else has this issue. 

EDIT: So this workaround didn't work in the next battle I fought (Level 5 of the very first map). Turned on just for a few rounds and then off. At end of battle I got connection error again. Too bad.
