Hey guys, so i've been modding a game called heart of vegas.

They have recently patched my efforts due to me tampering with the machines config files.

Ok so heres what the game is:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/free-slots-heart-vegas-casino!/id785537179?mt=8
Heres what my hack does:
Every spin cost 0 coins + also triples your winnings,
Also for more chilli, more hearts every spin adds a free feature.

Ok so for how the game behaves you first log in, it downloads a file called GDK.zip, in that zip folder contains 2 .mercury files (dafekk filetype is that) and xml files (not important)

once the game's reached the lobby you choose a machine, it will download that games assets into [gamefolder]/packages/
Once it's done it will then unzip the files into [gamefolder]/games and the game will read from this directory.
before the update i'd just edit the zip files in the /packages folder so each time i choose a certain game, it will load the modded zip game.
now every time i tamper with a zip it will redownload the assets of the file.
Does anyone think there is something in the .mercury files commanding the game to redownload it? (only re-downloads the file if it's edited, or i think if the checksum changes.
Here is a screenshot of a .mercury file containing .wav files and .png files, can anyone extract this file?
Will pay someone happily if someone can help me out! <3

They might have checks on the file size of the archive. Even if you add one more character, it would re-download it.

You should monitor somehow on what the app is doing when the download begins after the update. Charles Proxy maybe?

Not sure only CSC, where will the app be getting the file size from though? Any help?

And how can charles proxy work with iOS?

Posted

Same as it works on a PC. It logs all the traffic coming and going on your iOS Device.

I'll give this a go, the file HoVGames.sol containing the links to all the packages and the checksum what do you guys think is deleting this file when edited? if i host the packages and change the links around to my hostname with the packages in the currect directory they don't download :p

Keep trying?

You maybe might find a workaround. :)
