General Why it is difficult making friends as you get older. Shower Thots

If you have noticed, as you get older, it becomes more difficult to make friends, rather you have colleagues whom you share common space with, and if you leave that space, you don't talk to them as often, or even at all.

I would like to hear your guys opinion on why that is?

I personally believe in order to be friends, close ones that is, you need to spend time with them when it is not a necessity. What I mean is, if you hangout with them when you're not at work/school, invite them to your house, etc. you create a personal bond, which in result creates a relationship that is not tied to only one entity such as your work/school.

Thus, if you made these kind of friends when you were younger, you find it easier to talk to them anytime.

Colleagues can be seen as classmates but to a more professional degree. If you share common interests, there’s no reason not to try and share those interests outside of the workplace. Unless your job sucks then you probably don’t want to befriend people who remind you of it? Or maybe you do so you can talk about how much it sucks, together!

I do agree that it is harder when you’re older and partly that may be because people are already established at an older age. They know what they want and likely have what they need (in terms of friends & family) so they’re not interested in forming new friendships.

I don’t have an issue making new friends, just I don’t easily change from acquaintances to friends because I usually like to make sure they’re not assholes.

I agree but if you have a family and you would probably think it is wiser to spend time with them instead I think as we get older, the process of making friends gets tiring KEKW It's awkward and too tiring imo

I have to add that some friendships come naturally as you said since we're established, we already know what we like and don't so we are picky when it comes to humans too :pepe:

Unless you marry the Islamic way :happydance: You just meet with girls for marriage and if she and her guardian agree, boom marriage. Of course you need to share similar mindset for that tho

Welp, I am excited tbh. Marriage is difficult no doubt, but at least having someone to rely on and go through hardship with them is a blessing on its own

Whether that person is of good character, well you try your best and hope for the best
