Jonathan, it's not always like that. Game development teams should care about gamers and react on their bug reports and features request, in my humble opinion. If you know such great game developers like iLogos, then you know what I'm talking about. Here is their website with a find game development team page, where you can see all the options their offer even for other game development teams, giving an option for outsourcing, and implementing solutions for others' game projects.
