Help/Support What is the "Force sign up code" setting used for?

On the web version of Instagram (not sure if it's also on the mobile apps), there's an account setting called "Force sign up code"

 

which lets you type up to 30 characters. What is this setting actually used for? I've searched Google and Instagram's Help Center but couldn't find anything about it.

I just checked it. I have it also on my web version of instagram

 

I'm not sure what it is but it has something to do with security although I do not see how or where it can be used.

 

You're also right, no documentation from Instagram yet also so this must be something beta.

 

You can also try contacting Instagram support? Maybe they have a better answer.
