TuT Cracking with Clutch and Mobile Terminal For Dummies!

Hello Everyone,

Due to many requests, this tutorial is on how to use mobile terminal and Clutch to crack Binaries.

Many of you reading this probably dont know what cracking binaries do, or how they work. That's okay. When i first started hacking, i didn't know myself what those meant either. Today however, this will change. I will show you how to step by step crack a binary using simple terms and instructions. Because mobile terminal keeps crashing for me, i use a program called New term, another alternative for Mobile Terminal (for those of you on ios 8 and above)

Things you will need:

Mobile terminal ( available from Big Boss Repo) or NewTerm ( available at http://Cydia.hbang.ws/)

Clutch v. 1.47 (aka clutch beta. Available from Repo.insanelyi.com

Ifile

Darwin CC tools (available from http://modmyi.com/repo/or http://apt.modmyi.com/)

Steps:

1. Install clutch version 1.47-2 from the big boss repo.

2. open mobile teminal/ any alternative you are using. In order to use Clutch you need root access to your device.

3. In the terminal type in : su root. It will then ask for a password. The default password is alpine. Don't worry if you cant see the letters, you're still typing them in.

4. After you have done this it should say (phone name): /var/mobile/ root#. type in clutch. it will initialize and it may or may not ask to configure settings. Type yes/ no to what ever settings you feel you desire. If not, it will initialize and build a list of applications on your device. Each of those apps have a number before it, those numbers correspond to the app)

5. To crack, type clutch (number of the app). After that it will start cracking. It does take a while (especially on larger apps)

6. Next, open ifile and go to /var/mobile/Documents/Cracked. In that folder you will find your cracked ipa. Rename the extension to zip and unzip the file. There will be a folder called Payload. Inside that folder locate the .app folder and copy it. After that go to your application folder, /var/mobile/containers/Bundle/Application. find your application folder and open appnamehere.app. Paste your cracked ipa into that folder overwrite the old file!

7. Give yourself a pat on the back! you preformed a binary patch!

Optional step: after unzipping the folder, go to mobile terminal and run: lipo nameofbinaryhere -thin armv7 -o tempnameofbinary. Take the binary that the lipo made and copy and paste that into the game file.
