Help/Support Icloud email question

Read carefully:

Ive used someone account to download a game months ago, and i've never noticed it also logged me into his icloud. Problem is i cant contact him to log me out of his icloud.

Apple support told me that when i will restore it will ask for the email i used to set up the ipad and not the one which is logged in.

Is it true? Can i restore? Please don't answer if you do not know.

Yes as long as you don't restore from a backup which was made while you used his iCloud account
