The only way I found around this is either placing it in the spot you’re supposed to like at a tower or close the game, relaunch it, and hope you are on the map view when you load back in. If you can get to the map view you can run or walk to another place on the map and enter it and it will unload the item from your hands. If you can’t get to a new place you have to uninstall the game and then reinstall the vanilla game through the App Store, load your character, and confirm its not in your hands. Then reinstall the modded game. Kind of a pain but that’s all I’ve found you can do so far. I have learned to never pick up those objects unless I can immediately put it down somewhere.
