I’m not getting a connection error as you mentioned in both Homescapes and Gardenscapes.  This is the “updating screen.”  It won’t go past 1/55 of the update.  Some times, it will go to 2/55 but then jump back down to 1/55 of updating.  
 

It’s definitely not a connection issue.  It won’t allow it to finish the updating of the game.

User Mecolino is having the same issue

Gardenscapes loads to the main story but when it tries to upload the rest of the update, it won’t allow it to and says something about a slow internet connection.

Something is going on with the hacks, that once the games starts, it won’t allow them to update the games.
