On the settings you probably only logged into your iCloud account, you need to make sure to log your new account into the AppStore account as well. You can do this by entering the AppStore and scrolling to the very bottom, there you will see the account, tap on it, then tap on Sign Out. This will prompt you for your new account. Hope this helps.
